Alaa Halawi, CFA

Alaa is the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Morood Capital, where he leads the firm’s managing and arranging businesses. He also serves as Head of Arranging, overseeing the origination, structuring, and execution of the firm’s advisory and transaction mandates.

Alaa began his career with Morood Investment Company at its inception in 2012, where he later served as Chief Investment Officer and led the Investment Management and Advisory teams. During his tenure, he played a central role in investment decision-making, portfolio strategy, asset allocation, and risk management, while also advising institutional clients, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, and families on a broad range of financial and strategic matters.

He has extensive experience in originating, structuring, managing, and exiting investments across multiple asset classes, both locally and internationally, and has advised on a range of complex corporate and financial transactions. He also played an important role in shaping Morood Investment Company’s growth strategy and executing its business plan.

At Morood Capital, Alaa brings together this experience across investment management, corporate finance, and strategic advisory to lead the firm’s growth and oversee the delivery of its investment and advisory capabilities.

Alaa is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Arab Open University, Beirut, Lebanon.
